New ‘The Grudge’ Trailer is Here to Grip You in its Curse

The latest The Grudge trailer is here to haunt the heck out of the start of your week. Again, we find ourselves in a cursed house with a lot of familiar looking beats.

Director Nicolas Pesce brings new gloss to the remake based on the long running Ju-On franchise. This iteration appears to take the entire thing back to its roots, while mixing in some Western sensibilities.

The story again follows the a house cursed by a vengeful ghost that scares the hell out of, and the murders whoever dares to step foot inside. Similar to other chapters of the franchise, it looks like we are going follow different characters and their run in with the house and its curse.

Official synopsis goes like this:

A singe mother and young detective, Muldoon (Andrea Riseborough), discovers that a suburban house is curse by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death. Now, she runs to save herself and her son from demonic spirits from the cursed house in the neighborhood.

The Grudge stars Andrea Riseborough, John Cho and Lin Shaye and is produced by Sam Raimi Rob Tapert and Takashige Ichise.

The film is set to release on Jan. 3 2020.
