Dario Argento’s 1977 classic Suspiria is getting the makeover treatment this year whether you like it or not. We are intrigued by the trailer so far and are looking forward to seeing what Oscar-nominated director Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) is going to do with his adaptation of the Italian supernatural classic.
Suspiria happens to be one of Argento’s most successful films. It’s use of bold colors, simmering sense of dread coupled with a looming mystery helped make this a cult classic.
The original is actually the first of Argento’s “The Three Mothers” trilogy, with films Inferno and Mother of Tears completing the series.
Starring Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper and Chloe Grace Moretz, Suspiria is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on November 2, 2018.
Here’s the synopsis:
As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renowned dance company, its artistic director, a young American new to the troupe, and a grieving psychotherapist become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare. Suspiria arrives in theaters November 2. From director Luca Guadagnino. Starring Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper and Chloe Grace Moretz.
