New Short Fillm, “SockMonster”, Releases Details and Announces Cast

Filming has completed on a new horror short called SockMonster this week,, and with its completion came casting and plot news that has us excited here at iHorror.

In the film, Anne, played by Brianna Evigan, is grieving the loss of her daughter.  As her grief drags her down, she makes a gruesome discovery.  The infamous SockMonster who lives in the dryer doesn’t only have a taste for crew socks.

Fans might remember Evigan from her roles in Sorority RowThe Devil’s Carnival, and “From Dusk ’til Dawn: The Series”.  Just as exciting, the titular SockMonster will be played by none other than Derek Mears.  Mears has earned a deserved following in the horror community with his successful and terrifying turns in films like 2009’s reboot of Friday the 13thDead Snow 2, and The Hills Have Eyes 2.  The 6’5″ actor will no doubt make audiences think twice about approaching their dryer ever again.

Wesley Alley, director, promises a dark, emotionally charged, bloody film that audiences will love.  SockMonster is produced by Three Tales Productions with Alley, Darren Lynn Bouseman, Amanda Markowitz, Bradley Fowler, and Victoria Matlock on the impressive roster.
