We’re just a couple short months away from the release of Poltergeist, a reboot (or is it a sequel?) of the 1982 horror classic. The brand new film will update the original for modern times, and if this new clip is any indication, it will recreate many iconic moments from the movie we know and love.
In addition to the infamous clown scene, one of the most memorable moments from the original Poltergeist was without question the ‘face-peeling’ scene, wherein a character tore away his own face. Despite the graphic nature of the scene, the movie was released with a PG rating, which many have questioned over the years.
The Poltergeist remake is set to be a PG-13 affair, and given the nature of the ratings system nowadays, we can expect that it will be a bit more kid-friendly than Tobe Hooper’s original. But have no fear, because the face-peeling scene isn’t going to be left on the cutting room floor…
Check out a brand new TV spot for Poltergeist below, which teases a recreation of the moment as well as a badass, super pissed off tree!
Look for Poltergeist on May 22nd, in both 2D and 3D.
