Paranormal Activity is getting back on its spooky feet over at Blumhouse. It appears that writer/director, Christopher Landon is currently working on the next chapter of more things paranormal.
The Marked Ones and Ghost Dimension saw the end of the franchise. The found footage behemoth basically launched Blumhouse and also made found footage a mainstay for the genre. At least for a while.
It’s been five years since we last saw Paranormal Activity, but now according to Jason Blum there is a seventh film in the works.
“We are doing a new Paranormal Activity, we have Chris Landon…he’s coming up with Paranormal Activity 7” Blum said during The Evolution of Horror Podcast.
It isn’t clear if this will continue the story or it will be a complete reboot. Either way, it’s been a missing part of the horror diet. Maybe getting back to those binaural-fueled spooks could be fun. We will have to wait and see.
Landon directed both Happy Death Days. He also had penned Paranormal Activity 2-4 as well as The Marked Ones.
The seventh Paranormal Activity film is set to release March 19, 2021.
