If there’s any one movie that I’m looking forward to this year it’s not quite a horror movie, but it’s one that will likely leave more bodies in its wake than most of this year’s horror releases combined. I’m of course referring to Mad Max: Fury Road, which promises to be THE must-see movie of 2015.
Tom Hardy takes over the iconic role of Max Rockatansky in the new film, the character of course played by Mel Gibson in the classic films Mad Max, Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. George Miller directed all three original installments, and he returns with Fury Road for an all-new action spectacle.
It’s a timely return, as this year marks the 30th anniversary of the franchise’s last installment. Yes, it’s been 30 years since Mad Max kicked some ass on the big screen, and by the looks of this new trailer, he’s making up for lost time by giving us 30 years worth of awesomeness in Fury Road.
Check out the brand spankin’ new Mad Max: Fury Road trailer below, and expect the film to totally blow up your local theater on May 15th!
Mad Mad: Fury Road is an apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and almost everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There’s Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa (Charlize Theron), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.
