Can you feel the anticipation building? Can you hear the unsettling, twisted call of perhaps TV’s best drama, pulling you in closer like a siren song? If you can, it’s because we’re now just barely over a month away from the premiere of Hannibal season three.
The wait for “Fannibals” has been a good deal longer than usual this year, with viewers having to deal with an agonizing full year stretch between the May 28th, 2014 finale of Hannibal season two and the June 4th premiere of season three. This falls in stark contrast to the eight month wait between seasons one and two.
Still, we can hope that NBC’s new strategy of programming Hannibal in the less competitive summer months – and with a new lead-in in Aquarius – will result in higher ratings. As cheap as Hannibal is for NBC – they don’t produce the show, they only license its broadcast rights – it’s hard to imagine that the Peacock will be happy with 0.7s forever.
In NBC’s latest effort to get folks in the mood for more of Hannibal’s exploits, the network has released a new promo featurette delving into the dark legacy being crafted by Dr. Lecter and the motivations for why he does the horrific things he does. It also serves as a terrific catch-up tool for those among us who are behind on the first two seasons.
iHorror readers can check that full video out below, along with the official teaser trailer for season three. Stragglers are also advised to catch up on Hannibal as soon as possible. The good doctor does not take kindly to those who arrive late.
