With so little information about the new Halloween movie coming out next October, we have been stalking the internet for any added casting news or plot details.

We may have finally got what we have been looking for: Andi Matichak will take on the lead role in the David Gordon Green sequel.

This news comes exclusively from the Tracking Board, and Blumhouse producer Ryan Turek’s Instagram.

There was a collective cheer from fans when it was announced that Jamie Lee Curtis would reprise her role as Laurie Strode with John Carpenter taking an executive producer and music composer credit.

Judy Greer is the only other person officially cast in the project, she will be playing Strode’s granddaughter.

Danny McBride is co-writing the script with Green, while Jason Blum produces and longtime series backer Malek Akkad adds to the bankroll.

Matichak is a Chicago native who has appeared in TV shows such as Blue BloodsUnderground666 Park Avenue and Orange Is the New Black.

Her film credits include the recently wrapped Replicate and the Paul Reiser and Molly Shannon dramedy Miles.

Halloween is scheduled to hit theaters on October 19, 2018.
