Through four entire Scream films, Neve Campbell has remained at the center. She has Scooby ganged the lot of psycho killers and thwarted their plans. Ever since the devastating loss of Wes Craven, both the Scream franchise and involvement of Campbell were entirely up in the air.
While chatting with Rotten Tomatoes, Campbell revealed that she is in talks with the folks working on Scream 5 for a possible return of Sidney Prescott.
“You know, we only started the conversation maybe a month and a half ago, so it’s going to take some time to figure out how it’s all going to work out. We’re negotiating, so we’ll see.” Campbell told RT about being approached for Scream 5.
Campbell continued, “I’m so grateful for these films. I love Sidney Prescott. It’s always been fun for me to step back in her shoes, and it’s always fun for me to see the cast come back and make one of these films again and try to make another good one.”
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett who are attached to direct the next Scream film, expressed reverence for Craven. Both respect and admire his work and want to make a film that would do right by Craven.
