Netflix’s ‘Hubie Halloween’ Trailer Puts Adam Sandler in a Halloween Whodunit

by Trey Hilburn III

For every Uncut Gems or Punch Drunk Love that Adam Sandler does, we get 6 or 7 interesting comedies. Hubie Halloween is his latest offering over at Netflix and it definitely has that Happy Madison brand you have come to expect.

The official synopsis for Hubie Halloween goes like this:

Hubie Dubois (Adam Sandler) thanklessly spends every Halloween making sure the residents of his hometown, Salem, celebrate safely and play by the rules. But this year, an escaped criminal and a mysterious new neighbor have Hubie on high alert. When people start disappearing, it’s up to Hubie to convince the police (Kevin James, Kenan Thompson) and townsfolk that the monsters are real, and only he can stop them.

Now, as goofy as this is, I’m onboard. For one, its free on Netflix beginning October 7. Secondly, it’s Halloween related. Thirdly, Hubie Halloween looks to have a real Earnest Scared Stupid vibe to it. Plus over all it has really great looking production design to it. It definitely scream Halloween. My real wish is that Sandler hadn’t used whatever accent he is using here.
