I’m gonna sound like a paid shill here, but I really love Netflix. Sure, it would be nice if they stopped raising their prices, but their content has still gotten me through many a boring day with nothing else to do, and that’s always useful.

One of the coolest Netflix originals available right now is Santa Clarita Diet, a horror comedy tale of what happens when a suburban mom turns into a zombie for still unexplained reasons, and develops a hunger for human flesh. You know, that old chestnut.

Playing said mom Sheila Hammond is Drew Barrymore, while Timothy Olyphant plays her often harried husband Joel. Despite Sheila’s drastic changes, Joel is committed to keeping their family together, with the help of sarcastic teenage daughter Abby (Liv Hewson).

Season 1 of Santa Clarita Diet premiered in February 2017, while season 2 premiered this past March. Both have met with widespread acclaim, and now Deadline reports that Netflix has renewed the disgustingly gory, yet bloody hilarious series for season 3.

As one might expect, season 3 will again consist of 10 episodes, and premiere in early 2019. The series’ writing staff is already said to be hard at work crafting season 3, which will hopefully be even crazier and more delightfully subversive than seasons 1 and 2.
