Lucifer will return to Netflix for a final sixth season. The handsome devil still has a little bit of gas left in him, and a sprawling narrative to tie up. The series has bolstered a massive fandom that only grew once the series moved from Fox to Netflix following a series cancellation.
Today, the Lucifer Netflix Twitter account broke the news with a post stating “the devil made us do it.”
I’m a fan of the tongue-in-cheek “like, FINAL final” part of the Tweet. A nod that fans will definitely understand with the series “will it make it, won’t it make it” nature. The ride for fans have been a doozy.
The official synopsis for Lucifer goes like this:
Bored with being the Lord of Hell, the devil relocates to Los Angeles, where he opens a nightclub and forms a connection with a homicide detective.
It’s been a long run for Neil Gaiman’s Lucifer. Lucifer Samael Morningstar appeared in an early issue of The Sandman all the way back in 89′ and has slowly grown in an expanded narrative in comics since. The series took things in a new direction, but has been one that Gaiman can be proud of.
