Netflix has picked up Every House is Haunted, a new supernatural horror film from Corin Hardy (The Nun). Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead) will produce the film based on a script by Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension).
The film is made in association with Starlight which optioned a collection of short stories by the same name. The film, itself, is based on a story from the collection titled “The House on Ashley Avenue” by Ian Rogers. The story was nominated for a Shirley Jackson Award when it was first released. The collection is sadly out of print at this time, but used copies are available online for the avid reader.
The story focuses on an insurance investigator intent on debunking claims that a couple was killed in an apparent haunting. Once the investigation is begun, however, he is challenged by a psychic and the events he witnesses himself.
According to Deadline Raimi is producing the film under his Raimi Productions banner with Zainab Azizi in association with Roy Lee for Vertigo Entertainment as an executive producer.
There is no timeline yet for when the film will go into production, but iHorror will keep you posted on those details as they become available.
