Neil Gaiman’s “Coraline” Receiving The Treehouse of Horror Treatment?

Every year, fans of The Simpsons’ eagerly anticipate the animated series’ Halloween Extravaganza “The Treehouse of Horror“.  Over the years, we’ve seen everything from The Shining to Harry Potter receive the Simpson treatment, turning classic scary stories on their heads with equal amounts of laughter and heart.  This year, it appears, they’ll be tackling yet another classic in the form of Neil Gaiman‘s Coraline!

One of the author’s most famous works, Coraline tells the story of a young girl who travels through a mysterious door and finds a world that’s the total opposite of her own.

From the image provided with Gaiman’s Tweet below, it looks as though Lisa will be making that fateful trip.  One can only imagine backwards Bart, Homer, Marge and Maggie with a sinister gleam in their button eyes!

This is the first real inkling we’ve had of what this year’s Treehouse of Horror episode has in store for us, but keep checking back as we’ll post more news on the latest Halloween episode as details emerge!

The new season of The Simpsons’ is slated to debut on September 29 2017 as it continues to set records for the longest running series on television.  This season marks #29 for the animated show which began as a series of shorts on “The Tracey Ullman Show” in the 1980s.
