Mortal Kombat is getting it’s due justice, you guys! This adaptation is going the animated route.

While we wait for James Wan’s big screen, live-action Mortal Kombat adaptation. This will do well to whet our appetites for all things Fatality, especially when it comes to our Outworld friend, Scorpion.

The synopsis for Scorpion’s Revenge goes like this:

The once-in-a-generation tournament between the champions of Outworld and Earthrealm – a competition that will ultimately determine the fate of Earth and all its citizens. Lord Raiden, protector of Earthrealm, must gather the greatest fighters of his realm to defend it from the evil Shang Tsung in the battle to end all battles – Mortal Kombat!

Looks like the story is sticking pretty close to what we already know about the Mortal Kombat mythos. The arrival of Goro toward the end of the trailer definitely seems to point toward a boss battle. But, with Scorpion being the name used in the title, will this be his own vehicle? Or will it focus more on Sonya and Cage?

This one has some pretty cool vocal talents in the form of Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) as Sonya Blade and Joel McHale (Community) as Johnny Cage.

Available on digital April 12 and Blu Ray April 28.
