Say what you will about 1995’s Mortal Kombat, it gave us a techno soundtrack and theme that will stay with us forever. It also gave us a live action look at what Paul WS Anderson assumed Mortal Kombat looked like. All things considered, I still enjoy it even with its flaws… for which there are many.

For those like myself who have a special cheesy spot in their heart for the film. We have good news. It’s due to kung-fu and fatality its way onto Netflix next month.

The synopsis goes like this:

“Lord Raiden (Christopher Lambert) handpicks three martial artists — federal agent Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson), Shaolin monk Lui Kang (Robin Shou) and action movie sensation Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby) — and mentors them. After intense training, Rayden transports the trio to Outworld, the site of an inter-dimensional fighting tournament. There, the three humans must defeat the demonic warriors of the evil Shang Sung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) — or allow Sung to take over the Earth.”

I always thought that Bridgette Wilson was a nice fit for Sonya Blade. The rest of the casting was questionable.
