Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy have added yet another project to their upcoming releases with Netflix with the addition of a series titled Midnight Mass.
According to Deadline, the show is part of the multi-year deal that the streaming platform signed with Flanagan and Macy and their company, Intrepid Pictures, and will come after the two have finished work on the upcoming The Haunting of Bly Manor, a follow-up to last year’s highly successful The Haunting of Hill House.
Midnight Mass will tell the story of an isolated community plagued by terrifying omens even as they see miraculous events unfold before their eyes in the wake of a young priest moving to town.
Flanagan will direct and will serve as executive producer along side Macy. Their other work with Netflix has included Gerald’s Game and Hush in recent years, both of which garnered rave reviews by fans and critics alike.
There is no firm date or casting set for the release of Midnight Mass, but we do know that it will happen sometime after the duo finish work on The Haunting of Bly Manor, based on the Henry James classic, The Turn of the Screw.
Victoria Pedretti, who starred as Nell Crain in The Haunting of Hill House will return to star in Bly Manor.
