McFarlane Reveals Page of ‘Spawn’ Script

by Timothy Rawles

Todd McFarlane shot out an image of the script for his upcoming reboot of Spawn on Friday.

The screen grab posted to Twitter is a scene from early on in the film where characters Twitch and Danny are practicing their skills at a shooting range.

There’s nothing major to reveal as far as plotline so maybe this is MacFarlane’s, “pinch me, it’s happening” moment.

McFarlane is the creator of Spawn and has been trying to get a theatrical version off the ground for a while but to no avail.

Now he not only gets to write the script he gets to direct it too.

Fans are very intrigued at what will come of this horror film even though McFarlane says it will be more character than monster driven.

“There’s two big roles in the script,” McFarlane has said. “There’s obviously sort of Spawn himself, although in a weird way it’s not the biggest role, and then there’s the cop. The cop is this character Twitch who’s been there since issue #1. Twitch is the role in this one, and I sort of refer to him as my Sheriff Brody, who is the sheriff in the Jaws movie. Although it was called Jaws, Jaws didn’t really talk a lot in his movie, right? He just kind of showed up at the opportune time to make the movie worthwhile.”

Actors who will play Al and Twitch are still being shopped, but McFarlane has two big names in mind, although he won’t say who.
