One thing that has always gone hand in hand with the horror genre is heavy metal music. Many metal artists are clearly huge horror fans, and love to incorporate supernatural or Satanic imagery into their lyrics, concerts, and music videos.
Arguably, few artists have ever combined metal with horror as well as Marilyn Manson. Manson ruled the 90s and early 2000s rock charts, and still continues to make great music to this day. He also still regularly tours, performing in front of sold out arenas.
Unfortunately, during a concert last night at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom, Manson ended up creating a whole new kind of horrific imagery for his fans.
According to Variety, Manson was about 45 minutes into his set, when a large stage prop collapsed on top of him. Manson was performing his beloved cover of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) at the time.
At the center of the stage was a large podium, framed by two giant gun props. Manson began to climb on the podium, which then noticeably wobbled, leading Manson to fall backward. The gun props then fell down on top of Manson, crushing him.
Here’s a short video of the incident, captured by Twitter user @antkneebee.

Manson’s band continued playing for a bit, before finally noticing that their singer wasn’t getting back up. After a few minutes, the house lights came on, and an announcer let the crowd know that the rest of the show was being canceled due to injury.
A rep for Manson says that the injured artist was then stretchered out and taken to a local hospital, where he is currently being treated. Specific details about Manson’s condition have yet to be released.
iHorror wishes Marilyn Manson the best, and we hope for a speedy recovery for the Antichrist Superstar. Hopefully, Manson will soon be back out on stage, thrilling fans around the country.
