‘Marilyn Manson’ Covers ‘The Doors’ For Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’

by Trey Hilburn III

A little while back we reported that Stephen King’s The Stand is being transformed into a 10-part miniseries. Well, while we are still a ways off from seeing that, since it is still in production, it’s great to get a taste in the from of Marilyn Manson covering The Door’s The End for The Stand soundtrack.

For those not familiar with King’s The Stand:

This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides — or are chosen. A world in which good rides on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abigail — and the worst nightmares of evil are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the dark man.

Director Mick Garris’ 94′ The Stand miniseries was the first outing for an adaptation of King’s work and broke TV records during its original airing.

So far, The Stand’s cast includes James Marsden (WESTWORLD) as Stu Redman, Amber Heard (AQUAMAN) as Nadine Cross, Whoopi Goldberg (GHOST) as Mother Abagail, Greg Kinnear (TWILIGHT ZONE) as Glen Bateman and many more.
