Fans of Joe Hill’s Locke & Key and the Sandman comics created by Neil Gaiman have something look forward to this October with a crossover event from IDW and DC comics titled Locke & Key: Hell and Gone.
IDW officially made the announcement via Twitter this weekend.
If you think you can unlock the gates of hell and just invite yourself in, you must be dreaming. Coming October 2020: @joe_hill and @GR_comics will debut LOCKE & KEY: HELL & GONE – A SANDMAN UNIVERSE Crossover Event, courtesy of @IDWPublishing and @DCComics. pic.twitter.com/b9I9e3Sa0h

Chilean comic book artist Gabriel Rodriguez and Joe Hill took to social media with their own posts celebrating the announcement.
( the thing we like the most about the meeting of the #SandmanUniverse with the #LOCKEandKey mythology is that @joe_hill and I got to that because of a meaningful story idea, and not the other way round. We’re hoping to deliver something proper )#makingcomics #storytelling

Rodriguez and Hill previously collaborated on Subterranean Press’s edition of Hill’s NOS4A2.
Interestingly, both properties were also optioned for adaptation at Netflix with Locke & Key debuting just this month while a date for the Sandman adaptation is still up in the air.
There is little being released at this time on just what this crossover will entail, but iHorror will keep you posted as details become available.
