A movie starring Chloë Sevigny and Kristen Stewart could pretty much be about anything and already have my attention, but throw in the the fact that its a twist on the legendary Lizzie Borden murders and I’m all ears and eyes and love.
The trailer carries a lot of the same vibes and timing of the Hereditary trailer, and is filled with equally as much impending dread. The quick look features what looks to be a seriously dark thrill ride, and one that will make everyone examine the facts of the Borden murders more closely. It also looks to be telling a harrowing story of abuse that leads to the just deserts of vengeance.
As an unmarried woman of 32, Lizzie (Sevigny) is a social outcast trapped under her father’s austere and domineering control. When Bridget Sullivan (Stewart), a young maid desperate for work, comes to live with the family, Lizzie finds a sympathetic, kindred spirit, and a chance intimacy that blossoms into a wicked plan, and a dark, unsettling end.
