After athe unveiling of the beautiful official poster (that honored the ending to the 1993 original film), Leprechaun Returns has revealed a first official trailer in anticipation of its December release.
Directed by Steven Kostanski (best known for the phenomenally visceral The Void) and written by Suzanne Keilly (writer of the fan favorite “Ashy Slashy” episode of Ash vs Evil Dead), Leprechaun Returns will revive the deadly, wisecracking Leprechaun in all his gory glory.
“When the sorority sisters of the Alpha Upsilon house decide to go green and use an old well as their water source, they unwittingly awaken a pint-sized, green-clad monster. The Leprechaun wants a pot of gold buried near the sorority house, but first, he must recover his powers with a killing spree—and only the girls of AU can stop him.“
Leprechaun Returns will pick up 25 years after the 1993 original, acting as a direct sequel to the first entry in the franchise. The new trailer alludes that one of our heroic sorority sisters is intended to be the daughter of Jennifer Aniston’s character from the first film.
You’d think she would have given her daughter a stronger warning against returning to that fateful spot.
Leprechaun Returns features Mark Holton, reprising his role of Ozzie from the original Leprechaun. The film also stars Linden Porco (Channel Zero) as the Leprechaun, Taylor Spreitler (Kevin Can Wait), Pepi Sonuga (Ash vs Evil Dead), and Sai Bennett (Lake Placid: Legacy).
You’ll be able to check it out on Digital and On Demand as of December 11, 2018. You can view the brand new trailer below.
