Ah, Scream Factory, a North American horror fan’s best friend. What Anchor Bay was to the DVD era, Scream Factory has become to Blu-Ray, granting dozens of highly requested titles their first ever HD disc release, as well as taking previously released to BD films and making them even better.

During their still relatively brief time in existence – Scream Factory began life in 2012 – the company has established a good relationship with the work of legendary director George A. Romero, releasing worthy editions of Monkey Shines, The Dark Half, and Day of the Dead to Blu-Ray.

Now, Scream Factory has announced plans to release yet another Romero effort, this time 2005 zombie sequel Land of the Dead, starring Simon Baker and Dennis Hopper. As if that wasn’t cool enough, Scream will double the undead love by also releasing Zack Snyder’s 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead.

Land and Dawn ’04 will both carry Scream Factory’s “Collector’s Edition” label, so you know they’ll probably be jam-packed full of extras, both new and from prior releases. Full specs are to be announced, but Scream has confirmed that both will be 2-disc sets, and contain both the theatrical and unrated cuts of the films.

As for when Scream’s Blu sets of Land and Snyder’s Dawn can be purchased, both titles hit shelves on October 24th, just in time for the ever glorious holiday of Halloween. Stay tuned to iHorror for any future updates on these flesh-eating releases, and whatever other awesome stuff Scream Factory announces between now and October.
