Kevin Bacon Says Planned ‘Tremors’ TV Series is Canceled

by Paul Aloisio

Fans were ecstatic as Tremors star Kevin Bacon was set to return to the franchise in the form of a television series; unfortunately, Bacon himself says it’s not happening anymore.

He broke the news via his personal Instagram account:

Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one eye out for GRABOIDS!

This is a bummer to say the least.

It’s always sad when a longrunning franchise ends – but when a new project can’t even get off the ground? That’s just heartbreaking. We’ll never even get to know the potential it had unless the pilot is eventually released.

This comes right on the heels of the announcement that Ash vs Evil Dead will not be returning for a fourth season. How much more can my little heart take?

It’s not all bad, though. Don’t Breathe was a huge success, prompting Platinum Dunes to state that they won’t be focusing on reboots and instead will put their sights on new, original franchises.

We’ve had a good run with remakes and reboots, but now it’s time to look forward.
