Francis Lawrence’s Constantine was good, you guys. It was a different approach to DC’s Hellblazer character in a few ways but it didn’t change the fact that it was entirely awesome. Over the weekend’s Comic-Con at Home Keanu along with Francis Laurence and Akiva Goldsman joined Collider for a chat about the Master of the Dark Arts 15 years later.
These three have really interesting insight about all phases of Constantine’s production. The most surprising is that Nic Cage was was attached to the project in place of Keanu. That fact alone had me pause the video. Imagine a Cage lead Constantine and the absolute bonkers approach it would have brought.
Keanu is humble and magical as ever throughout the interview. He talks about the film the way a fan would. He speaks passionately about his favorite scenes and shows great love and respect for fellow cast and crew members.
Toward the end of the interview, Goldsman talks a bit about some sequel ideas. The most awesome is one that begins with Constantine going in to identify a body that turns out to be Jesus Christ.
The entire thing is a great watch. Let us know what your thoughts are on a Constantine sequel in the comments section. Do you think Keanu made a good Master of the Dark Arts?
