It’s time to head back to the park fellow Dino lovers! In just a few weeks, production will be underway on Jurassic World 2 in Hawaii and South Wales. The blockbuster franchise that first had us swooning over Goldblum and baby raptors back in 1993, certainly has no signs of slowing down with these films as long as fans remain interested, as this movie will serve as the second in a planned trilogy. And seriously, how many of you didn’t fall in love with that little firecracker Blue from the last film? If Blue didn’t pull at your heart-strings a tad, you must be a negative human.
In sort of a champagne break over a new boat kind of way, Jurassic World 2 director Juan Antonio Bayona tweeted out a very familiar looking image that all JP fans should recognize instantly. Those lovely looking hard hats bring us back. Way back to the early nineties, don’t they?

The upcoming sequel to 2015’s monster smash will bring back Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to take on new giant monstrosities in what has been said , a much darker, scarier, and deadlier movie than its predecessor. Colin Trevorrow, who held the directorial reigns of the first film, has helped write the sequel and will be on board as executive producer along with Steven Speilberg. While we don’t have any major plot details as of yet, Trevorrow had this to say a few months ago to Jurassic Outpost:
“It will be more suspenseful and scary. It’s just the way it’s designed; it’s the way the story plays out. I knew I wanted Bayona to direct it long before anyone ever heard that was a possibility, so the whole thing was just built around his skillset.”
What we do know however per reports, is that animatronics are definitely being heavily utilized and that the sequel will touch on animal abuse and medical experimentation. Jurassic World 2 is slated for a June 22, 2018 theatrical release. Just give Blue a cameo in the next film and I’ll be happy.
