I don’t know about you, but I think dinosaurs are cool as hell. I know that statement may make me sound like a kid, but it’s true, if dinosaurs are in a movie, it instantly becomes more attractive to me.

As you might imagine, I love the Jurassic Park franchise, even the more middling entries like Jurassic Park III. I can’t wait for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to hit theaters, and I’m willing to bet many of you can’t either.

However, if you’re looking for an alternate dino fix around the same time, look no further than the quite fun looking low-budget effort The Jurassic Dead. Made by the folks at Wild Eye Releasing, the film is essentially a “mockbuster” meant to coincide with Fallen Kingdom.

The premise of The Jurassic Dead is pretty simple. A mad scientist creates a rampaging zombie T-Rex, and a group of mercenaries must stop the creature from eating/zombifying anyone in its path.

Check out the trailer for The Jurassic Dead below, which sadly still does not have a firm release date, but is set to hit sometime this summer. The film used to sport the much cooler title Z-Rex, and one wonders why they felt they had to change it.
