Jordan Peele’s ‘Twilight Zone’ Reboot Cancelled at CBS All Access

by Trey Hilburn III

There was a ton of Paramount+ news today and with all that news was the omission of Jordan Peele’s recent Twilight Zone reboot which was completely left off of any plans to renew.

The series which ran only two seasons was known for taking classic episodes and reformulating them with updated themes. I personally tried to watch these episodes and was left without the feeling that the classic Rod Serling episodes left me with. Apparently, I wasn’t alone in that way of thinking. There was something missing in each and every single episode that left them feeling without voice. Perhaps that in itself was the horrifying Twilight Zonish lesson. Don’t mess with the classic formula.

“Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg and the entire production team truly reimagined The Twilight Zone for the modern age. They upheld the classic series’ legacy of socially conscious storytelling and pushed today’s viewers to explore all new dimensions of thought-provoking and topical themes that we hope will resonate with audiences for years to come.” Julie McNamara, executive VP and head of programing at Paramount+ said.

Well, that was a nice thing to say about the series that was not brought back for a new life with Paramount+.
