Keanu Reeves has played some iconic roles over the years, such as Neo in The Matrix, Ted in Bill & Ted, and Constantine in Constantine. It’s rapidly becoming apparent though that his newest role might end up being his best, that of badass assassin John Wick.
The first John Wick seemingly came out of nowhere to impress everybody in 2014, leading to John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017, and now John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum in theaters now. There’s no end in sight either, as a fourth film is coming in 2021.
While John Wick may not be a horror villain and is, in fact, the hero of his story, he damn sure does kill a lot of people. Enough people, it turns out, to rival any slasher out there. As calculated by Bloody Disgusting, John has now killed 306 people over three movies.
By contrast, Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees has killed 157 people over twelve films, and Halloween’s Michael Myers has killed 140 over eleven. Those numbers combined equal 297, still less than “Baba Yaga” has racked up in a single trilogy of films. Wow.
In Jason and Michael’s defense, John isn’t a slasher villain, and thus isn’t required to stalk to his victims first before dispatching them. If you’re wondering where Freddy Krueger fits in, he loves to toy with his victims first, leading to less overall kills made.
