It seems safe to say that the biggest horror film to emerge from 2017 is director Andy Muschietti’s IT, the first theatrical adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel. Made on a budget of $35 million, IT has hauled in nearly $700 million worldwide, and now stands as the highest grossing horror film ever.
With the story of the child Losers’ Club now told – although the young actors are expected to appear in flashback – the IT sequel is expected to focus on the Losers as adults. Fans have been spending time coming up with their dream adult casts for months now, and they tend to be pretty varied.
When it comes to who fans want to play the adult version of Beverly Marsh though, there are two names that seem to come up more than others: Jessica Chastain and Amy Adams. Both are great actresses, both are Oscar nominees, and both are usually redheads.
While Adams has yet to comment on whether or not she’d like the role, Chastain recently told Screen Rant that she would very much like to be a part of IT: Chapter 2, partly due to her existing friendship with Muschietti. Check out how she might look as adult Bev in the below fan-made poster.
“Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so… Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.”
So, what do you think, iHorror faithful? Should Jessica Chastain get the part? Or do you have someone better in mind?
