Over the years we have seen Jared Leto play a number of varying characters. Each of them completely transformative. From Angel in Fight Club to his award winning role in Dallas Buyers Club, the dude sure knows how to take a character’s shape. Leto appears to again be applying that method to his latest role as a serial killer in the upcoming thriller, Little Things.
The Thirty Seconds to Mars front man and Oscar winner, will play a yet unnamed serial killer in a film by John Lee Hancock. Both Denzel Washington and Rami Malek have been cast as the detectives joining forces to catch Leto’s character.
In the photo that was taken in LA while filming, Leto is seen wearing a janitors outfit and is draped in long oily hair. Added to that, he appears to have once again playing with his weight to suit the character.
Variety earlier reported that the synopsis will head in this direction:
The story follows a burned-out Kern County, Calif. deputy sheriff named Deke (Denzel Washington) who teams with Baxter, a crack LASD detective (Rami Malek), to reel in a wily serial killer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past.
Little Things is still filming, and we may be a ways off from a release but the cast for this one definitely has our attention.
