Jason Blum posted a photo to his official Twitter this week of him and Jamie Lee Curtis clutching a Halloween action figure and captioned it simply with, “we’re discussing stuff.” Yeah, we get the hint.

This is obviously a tease, if you weren’t paying attention.

Small as this post by Blum may seem, this is like Christmas come earlier for fans of the most recent Halloween film. Though we don’t have any concrete information about what exactly they’re discussing, we can safely say that involves a certain Laurie Strode facing off with a certain Michael Myers. Here’s the pic:

Recently, Blum has stated that if it was up to him, he’d make ten more Halloween films. Not one, not two, but ten.

As much as I love the franchise, this begs the question: how is this story ever going to end? And if it hasn’t ventured into the point of hilarity by now with Michael coming back for more – and more – and more – then when will it?

A workaround for the 2018 film was to simply ignore all of the sequels, which outraged many fans of the series. Is the series, for better or for worse, going to end up in a cycle of reboots for all of eternity?

Personally, I think it would be really cool to go back to John Carpenter’s earlier idea and make the series into more of an anthology. Halloween III: Season of the Witch was a great film in its own right, and over time, its gained a cult following.

I love Michael, but we can all agree that eventually he needs to die for good. As it stands, that’s probably not going to be any time soon.

I have to admit, though…it would be super cool to eventually see Michael fight Jason. Wouldn’t it?
