Hey, you, did you forget there was a remake of Jacob’s Ladder coming? I wouldn’t blame you if you had, since the only reason I’m even aware of it is that I write for a horror website. Well, don’t expect to see it anytime soon.

At this point, it seems pretty clear that this movie probably sucks, as it’s known to have been holding test screenings since 2016, and still not only hasn’t seen release, it hasn’t even received a trailer or other marketing yet.

The Jacob’s Ladder remake had been penciled in for a February 1st, 2019 release since last summer, but now, Bloody Disgusting reports that it’s been delayed indefinitely, according to the film’s distributor LD Entertainment.

This news isn’t exactly surprising, since as mentioned above, the remake hasn’t received a trailer, poster, or any other kind of promotion yet. Kind of hard to release a film in theaters without people knowing it’ll be playing.

Personally, I wouldn’t be too mad if the Jacob’s Ladder remake never sees the light of day. Movies that have been on the shelf this long were usually put there for a reason, outside of rare cases like the awesome Trick ‘r Treat.

Now, that’s not that I don’t want the film to succeed. I hope for the best with anything horror, but one wonders why exactly Jacob’s Ladder can’t lock down a release date. Stay tuned to iHorror for any further updates.
