‘It’ Screenwriter Talks Possibility of Pennywise Spin-Off

by Trey Hilburn III

We all float down here, you guys. It’s a known fact. Pennywise the dancing clown out of Stephen King’s novel made us fans of floating. The TV movie and the two films that followed made us a fan even more so.

Now, it seems that ideas of a spinoff are the things floating around these here parts. In a recent recent interview with comicbookmovie.com, It: Chapter Two screenplay writer, Gary Dauberman talked the possibilities of a future spinoff dealing specifically with our ole’ pal Pennywise.

I do think it’s possible. Anything in the Stephen King Universe interests me but there’s only so much of the story we could tell in the two movies. There are definitely elements of the novel you could expand on and make its own movie. It’s just a question of whether or not people want to see it but I do think It was on this planet for a very, very, very long time and that’s a lot of bloodshed and a lot of stories to tell and I think you could do that for sure.

Pennywise has been on earth for ages. What would some of his other victims stories have looked like? The idea of an Pennywise anthology that focused on three stories might be a cool route to go in. If we got to see Pennywise go full werewolf form for the entirety of one of those anthology tales, I would be a happy gent.

What do you guys think? Would you want to further the adventures and tales of Pennywise?

IT: Chapter Two is hitting your favorite physical media preference next month.
