There are multiple exciting horror films still set to hit theaters before the end of 2019, but easily the most anticipated is director Andy Muschietti’s sequel IT: Chapter Two. Pennywise is back to menace the adult Losers’ Club.
2017’s first IT movie was of course a massive hit that surpassed all industry expectations both critically and commercially, raking in well over $700 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing horror movie ever.
While we wait for September’s release of IT: Chapter Two though, it turns out hardcore fans will soon have a new way to pass the time leading to Pennywise’s big screen return. IT is coming to the land of board games.
As reported by Bloody Disgusting, USAopoly is teaming up with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to adapt IT into versions of the classic board games Clue and Monopoly. It’s doubtful anyone saw this odd move coming.
IT Clue releases in March, and casts players as the Losers’ Club out to foil Pennywise’s plans for the children of Derry. IT Monopoly hits in 2019, and allows for ” buying, selling, and trading places in and around Derry, Maine.“
Expanding on that weird setup, IT Monopoly lets players “draw Encounters and Phenomena cards as they build Suburban Houses and Apartment Buildings on locations like Pennywise’s Cistern and the Derry Sewers.“
