Irrfan Khan of ‘Jurassic World’ & ‘Life of Pi’ Dies at 53

International writer and actor Irrfan Khan has died according to The Hollywood Reporter, he was only 53 years old. Khan was admitted to a Mumbai hospital this week where he was being treated for a colon infection.

The star was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer back in 2018.

Having already been a huge Bollywood star, Khan made his way to Hollywood and in 2007 landed a role in  Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited. A year later he would be recognized as a global talent playing the police inspector in Slumdog Millionaire and a year after that he appeared in Life of Pi.

But for horror fans, Kahn will be remembered as Masrani, the owner and developer of Jurassic World on Isla Nublar in the 2015 movie.

Reports coming out of India say that Khan’s mother had died on Saturday.

Kahn is survived by his wife and two sons.

Condolences have poured in over the internet as fans remember the star, renowned actor Shatrughan Sinha calling him a “versatile actor par excellence.”
