Interview With Dee Wallace

DW: Hi Ryan.

RTC: Good morning Dee how are you?

DW: I’m great, how are you?

RTC: I am wonderful. I was the one that saw you at Monsterpalooza yesterday.

DW: Oh yes, oh good! It was really crowded, wasn’t it?

RTC: It was, it usually is, but it was extra crowded this weekend. I got to finish the movie Beyond The Sky, and you were right it was a really good movie, and I enjoyed it.

DW: Oh good, I am so glad. I think that it is really refreshing, the message, I think that Ryan [Carnes] & Jordan [Hinson] just do an excellent job in this movie.

RTC: I know, I totally agree with you. I really enjoyed the ending and how it related to their two characters.

DW: Yeah, absolutely. I just love the message about love and the message the aliens, even though it is about the abduction that the purpose from the abduction was not hostile at all, they were searching for truth that they had lost. I just thought that it was a beautiful take on the whole subject, and one that I believe is true by the way, know is true I should say.

RTC: The film had a lot to do with healing, I had really never seen a take on it like this before.

DW: I think that E.T. got it right, you know, “keep your heart light on.” But it was interesting that they [Aliens] were trying to find out what they had lost in the future. I think that it is a good message for the days we are in now.

RTC: and that brings me to my next part; I didn’t realize this until recently that you are involved with self-healing.

DW: Yes, I do a lot of self-healing. I’ve actually worked a lot with Dolores Cannon who is one of the leading past life regressionists. She had regressed so many people that have had…she’s passed away now.. but have had encounters. And we have talked often on how they are here to guide us and try to influence us towards the positive but yet they cannot interact at all with our decision making. She [Cannon] just had proof upon proof upon proof of that, this has been my understanding since I was a very little girl. Nobody taught me that so I must have just come in with that knowing from experiences that I’ve had. That’s an absolute knowing in my life that they do exist, they are here, and they are here to serve, encourage, and not to harm.

RTC: And that is a refreshing take hearing it put that way. In the movie it kinda made me think, how do we know that we aren’t being abducted and studied, because the characters were in a trance when it was happening, so they really weren’t aware, this could be happening every day and everyone is getting little tidbits of their experiences.

DW: Well like everything you can see something through a perspective that makes it different that what it is. We know that in life some people, look at a person and automatically go into fear, and some people look at a person and just go “well that is just another person.” Maybe a different color of skin, a different religion, it is just another part of humanity, and so our perspectives color the reality that we see. [Laughs] I don’t think Hollywood has helped a lot with the perspective of aliens being loving, gentle beings.

RTC: [Laughs] Yea, like Independence Day, good example.

DW: Well there is a million of them. I think maybe that is one reason why E.T. touched as many people as it did. It reminded us of the truth. First of all of the love and how we need to keep our hearts open, the truth about the alien world and how gentle a being that they can actually be.

RTC: Yeah, just how we can be.

DW: Exactly.

RTC: You’ve authored I think five books on self-healing?

DW: Yes, five books.

RTC: That is amazing, are they all available on Amazon?

DW: Yes, they are all available on Amazon. They’re also available on my website iamdeewallace.com you can order them there. You can put instructions, and I will sign them to you or whomever you would like them signed to.

RTC: I have a fun question for you, unrelated to the film. What is the strangest request that you’ve received from a horror fan via a convention or even fan mail?

DW: It would be to sign their bottom so they could get it tattooed.

RTC: [Laughs]

DW: I kid you not.

RTC: Wow, that is funny!

DW: [Chuckles] So someone is sitting on me every day!

RTC: That’s great. Are you able to talk about your upcoming Zombie proect, 3 From Hell at all? About your character?

DW: Well I can tell you, boy, you’re going to have to look really hard to recognize me in the film. And boy Rob’s fans are not going to be disappointed in this film, it is crazy and is out there. It is classic Rob Zombie.

RTC: When you were originally with Rob back in 2007 for Halloween, how did that come about? How did you get connected with Rob?

DW: You know it came in as an offer. Rob loves to work with the horror icons; he’s very loyal to us, this is the third film I’ve done with Rob, I just adore him. I adore him as a person, as a director, and love Sheri [Moon Zombie] to bits. I have a lot of scenes with Sheri this time which I was thrilled about. So it came in as an offer, and now we have friendship and I just really appreciate having Rob and Sheri in my life.

RTC: That is great to hear, and I look forward to seeing that and hopefully, you’ll do more with Rob in the future.

DW: I am hoping so too my friend, thank you.

RTC: Death House, Ouija House, I saw you in both. Red Christmas, you’re just ranking em in, they’ve been great. Anything with you Dee, [speechless] is just magical. This film, you are in for like three minutes, and it was just well worth it – I’ll watch anything that you’re in.

DW: Oh sweetheart, thank-you. Thank you so much for that.

RTC: You have touched the hearts of many of us, I grew up in the 80’s. You just have that certain voice; you are MOM. You were the mom to us all.

DW: [Laughs] I know, everyone has grown up on me, and I AM PROUD OF IT!

RTC: Thank you for that.

DW: You have a great day

RTC: You do the same take care.

Watch ‘The Burning’ At The Location Where It Was Filmed

Published

on

Fangoria is reporting that fans of the 1981 slasher The Burning will be able to have a screening of the film at the location where it was filmed. The movie is set at Camp Blackfoot which is actually the Stonehaven Nature Preserve in Ransomville, New York.

This ticketed event will take place on August 3. Guests will be able to take a tour of the grounds as well as enjoy some campfire snacks along with the screening of The Burning.

The Burning

The film came out in the early ’80s when teen slashers were being churned out in magnum force. Thanks to Sean S. Cunningham’s Friday the 13th, filmmakers wanted to get in on the low-budget, high-profit movie market and a casket load of these types of films were produced, some better than others.

The Burning is one of the good ones, mostly because of the special effects from Tom Savini who had just come off of his groundbreaking work on Dawn of the Dead and Friday the 13th. He declined to do the sequel because of its illogical premise and instead signed on to do this movie. Also, a young Jason Alexander who would later go on to play George in Seinfeld is a featured player.

Because of its practical gore, The Burning had to be heavily edited before it received an R-rating. The MPAA was under the thumb of protest groups and political bigwigs to censor violent films at the time because slashers were just so graphic and detailed in their gore.

Tickets are $50, and if you want a special t-shirt, that will cost you another $25, You can get all the information by visiting the On Set Cinema webpage.

Eli Roth (Cabin Fever) and Crypt TV are knocking it out of the park with their new VR show, The Faceless Lady. For those unaware, this is the first fully scripted VR horror show on the market.

Even for masters of horror like Eli Roth and Crypt TV, this is a monumental undertaking. However, if I trust anyone to change the way that we experience horror, it would be these two legends.

Ripped from the pages of Irish folklore, The Faceless Lady tells the story of a tragic spirit cursed to wander the halls of her castle for all of eternity. However, when three young couples are invited to the castle for a series of games, their fates may soon change.

So far, the story has provided horror fans with a gripping game of life or death that doesn’t look as if it will slow down in episode five. Luckily, we have an exclusive clip that may be able to satiate your appetites until the new premiere.

Airing on 4/25 at 5pmPT/8pmET, episode five follows our final three contestants in this wicked game. As the stakes are raised ever higher, will Ella be able to fully awaken her connection with Lady Margaret?
