Rosemary's Baby

Released way back in 1968, Rosemary’s Baby is one of the most iconic, influential and well-regarded horror films of all time, and one of the few over the years to scoop up gold at the Academy Awards. Based on a novel released just one year prior, the film of course tells the twisted tale of Rosemary Woodhouse (Mia Farrow), who finds herself pregnant with the spawn of Satan himself.

The film was followed up with a made-for-TV sequel in 1976, titled Look What’s Happened to Rosemary’s Baby, which set out to answer a question that nobody in their right mind dared to even ponder. Not surprisingly, the sequel has largely been forgotten by fans over the years, who more or less choose to pretend it doesn’t even exist.

Though a big screen remake of Rosemary’s Baby was in the works in 2008, the project quickly found itself in the dreaded development hell, and it wasn’t until late last year that we learned of the rebirth of the classic tale, which is headed our way in the form of an NBC mini-series.

Described as another adaptation of Ira Levin’s novel, rather than a remake of the film, the mini-series is a four-hour affair, starring Zoe Saldana as Rosemary Woodhouse. Entertainment Weekly just scored the first images of the upcoming re-imagining, one of which you scrolled past above and the other of which you’ll find directly below!

No word yet on when the mini-series will begin airing, but we’ll be sure to let you know, as soon as we find out!
