So you’re looking to redecorate your living room and aren’t sure which way to go: shabby chic or mid-century modern. Aww, but you’re a horror fan on a budget and can’t afford a decorator let alone that retro tripod coffee table.
Believe it or not, IKEA can help.
The Swedish ready-to-assemble furniture company is getting prepred for the third season of Stranger Things to stream on Netflix July 4 by replicating the Joyce Byers living room-cum-Christmas light Ouija board.
The ad campaign is currently running in the United Arab Emirates and the set will be displayed only at IKEA stores on the Middle East. Titled “Real Life Series,” the campaign also replicates Friends and The Simpsons common areas.
Keep in mind, the mockups are not exact replicas, but the company is using its own furniture to create them which means if you are so inspired your dreams are only a thumb shredding hex key away. Items can be purchased on their website.
“We brought to life the iconic living rooms of the most beloved families of all times, through tons of furniture combinations in lots of different styles and sizes — and at affordable prices,” IKEA wrote on their website.
The Stranger Things room is pretty detailed including the bookshelf, tuvalie throw on the couch and lights with the alphabet.
Managing director for IKEA in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman Vinod Jayan said, “The IKEA team worked closely with the creatives for months. They went through hundreds of items to find the perfect pieces that would bring those iconic rooms. It was a great collaborative effort that led up to a stunning result.”
