The final poster art for The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees has finally been selected and released. The documentary is an extensive look behind-the scenes at Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and is produced by that film’s director Adam Marcus and its creator Nick Hunt.
iHorror’s own Chris Fischer created the artwork for the poster and says it took him weeks to finish.
If you have been a longtime fan of iHorror, you have probably seen Chris’ work. He does the illustrations for some of our articles, special giveaways and recently drew the cover image of our new podcast “Eye On Horror.”
He says he heard about the movie and art contest online, “I contacted them and sent in my portfolio and told them about my love of Jason Goes to Hell and how much I wanted to see the documentary.”
He loves the hand-drawn poster artistry of yesteryear and has a special fondness for classic VHS tapes as well, “I always loved horror movie VHS art, my dad owned a video store so I grew up around them.”
He is ecstatic that his illustration was picked out of the many that were submitted, “It means a lot. Jason goes to Hell is a special one –on a lot of levels. I’m a fan of the flick and I love ‘making of’ documentaries. I would love to see more illustrated poster art. I hope to do more horror poster art in the future.”
The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees is filming this summer and is of interest to fans who aren’t aware of some of the setbacks it experienced before and during filming. Filmmakers promise fans will get all the dirty details from people involved in the film which turned out to be a successful cult classic.
