‘Horrorscope’ Novel Acquired by Screen Gems for the Big Screen

Horrorscope, a novel by Nicholas Adams published by Alloy Entertainment, has been acquired by Screen Gems for a big screen adaptation.

Anna Halberg (Extinction) and Spenser Cohen (Moonfall) will adapt the novel. Details are being kept under wraps about the project, but according to Deadline, the synopsis goes something like this:

After attending a horoscope party, people begin dying in ways connected to their zodiac signs. Four friends must work together to solve the mystery before their numbers are up.

Les Morgenstein and Elysa Dutton will produce the project which is being overseen by Michael Bitar and Lariah Perara from Screen Gems.

Alloy Entertainment is a division of Warner Bros. that produces books, television series, and films. They have had over 80 titles reach the New York Times best seller list. They have produced film and television series from multiple genres including The Sisterhood of the Traveling PantsThe Vampire DiariesPretty Little LiarsThe 100, and Legacies.

Production schedules are still up in the air as studios grapple with how to proceed with restrictions due to Covid-19 so there is no word yet on when we’ll see the project move ahead.
