Mondo announced their next horror vinyl release today and man are they gorgeous. These titles, being released at a random time tomorrow June 17th, are the result of Mondo working with Death Waltz to bring us beautifully render vinyl releases of classic titles. Lets dig into them:
Lucio Fulci’s Horror & Thriller
Lucio Fulci’s films always came with a great soundtrack from some of the best composers to grace the genre and this set looks to show that love. This 180 gram vinyl features selections from score from Fabio Frizzi’s The Beyond and Manhattan Baby, Ennio Morricone’s Lizard In A Woman’s Skin, Walter Rizzati’s The House By The Cemetery, Franco De Masi’s The New York Ripper, and two set of scores never before released on vinyl including Giovanni Cristiani’s Demonia and Franco Piana’s Door to Silence. This gorgeous set is limited to 1,000 copies and will be available at a random time on their site tomorrow or at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin’s screening of The Beyond tonight.
Lucio Fulci’s Horror & Thriller Compilation 2XLP. A collection of 29 tracks from the films of the Italian horror master Lucio Fulci. Variant version (limited to 1,000 copies) pressed on 180 Gram Vinyl: Translucent Yellow Vinyl (Disc 1) & Red Vinyl (Disc 2). Also available in Black Vinyl. Featuring incredible original artwork by Randy Ortiz. $25
Death Waltz and Mondo are bring us more score to consume flesh to with the soundtrack to Cannibal Apocalypse (aka Apocalypse Domani). I haven’t seen this film or heard it’s soundtrack so I am going to let Mondo take this description:
“The apocalypse itself scores a nine on the funkometer, with militaristic drums and sinister strings being overtaken by wah-wah funk and guitar noodling in a prog-rock vein. It’s both melodic and dischordant, with harsh alternating synth notes combining with shimmering music box notes, and a love theme with a sax that wails more than your average teenager.”
This sounds like an awesome set to own.
|Cannibal Apocalypse LP. Music composed & conducted by A. Blonksteiner. Pressed on Chestblaster Vinyl (Reverse Red splatter on Clear) & housed in a 425 reverse board sleeve. Cover art by Eric Adrian Lee. Sleeve notes by star Giovanni Lombardo Radice. Limited to 900 copies. $20|
