It wasn’t long ago that the internet was set ablaze with the announcement that Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot would feature an all-female main cast, and in the months since we’ve gotten a handful of sneak peeks at the boldly new vision. Tonight, the first image of the women in costume has finally arrived.
Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones play the female Ghostbusters, and below you’ll find a set photo of all four of them gathered together and ready to bust some ghosts. Though the characters are new, the image indicates that they’re very much inspired by the beloved originals.

In the reboot, Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.
Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
Original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman produces the reboot, while Feig is directing from a script he wrote with Katie Dippold. Chris Hemsworth will play the new crew’s hunky male receptionist, while Neil Casey was recently announced to play the film’s villain. Andy Garcia, Cecily Strong, and Michael Kenneth Williams are also on board.
Ghostbusters is set for release on July 22nd, 2016.
