The Child’s Play franchise returned to its roots back in 2013 with the surprisingly excellent Curse of Chucky, and series creator Don Mancini has for the better part of a year been teasing the killer doll’s return in an impending seventh installment. He’s been referring to it as Chucky 7, but no matter what you want to call it, the good news is that it is DEFINITELY happening.
Over on Twitter this week, Mancini teased that pre-production has officially begun. He posted a picture of the Glen doll standing in for Chucky, noting that the storyboarding process is well underway….

All we really know about Child’s Play 7 thus far is that both Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif will be back. The latter actress, daughter of horror icon/voice of Chucky Brad Dourif, starred in Curse of Chucky as Nica Pierce, a young paraplegic woman who was tormented by Chucky throughout the film, ultimately being blamed for a series of murders and sent to a mental asylum. Jennifer Tilly of course plays Tiffany throughout the franchise, and is expected to reprise the role.
