DIY horror sensation Found, directed by Scott Schirmer, based on the novel by Todd Rigney, finally hit DVD back in September as its follow-up, Headless, was in pre-production. Directed by Arthur Cullipher (who did the gore effects on Found) and produced by Schirmer, Headless is being presented as the full-length version of the late 70s slasher movie Found’s characters watch in the first movie.
If you’ve seen Found, you’ve already seen some of Headless, but now you can see a bit more as the first teaser is now out.

The film should have a very different tone than Found. Whereas that was more of a coming-of-age story set around horrific events, this should be a straight-up crazy slasher. If the bits we saw in Found are any indication, it’s going to be super gory. Keep in mind, Headless is the reason Found was banned in Australia.
Headless is the product of a successful Kickstarter campaign, and has been shooting over the past month. It should see an early 2015 release.
According to screenwriter Nathan Erdel, it’s going to have a pretty psychedelic 70s kind of vibe (it’s supposed to be from ’78 based on the narrative of Found) along the lines of movies like The Last House on Dead End Street and The Headless Eyes (which are both insane).
You can read our interviews with Cullipher and Shane Beasley, who plays the Headless killer (in both movies) here.
