For those who remember Peter Jackson’s Meet The Feebles, the idea of a bunch of irreverent, raunchy puppets is a familiar idea. The first look at Happy Time Murders, serves from the same well of puppet lewdness.
Happy Time Murders stars Melissa McCarthy as a detective investigating a recent string of puppet murders. This whodunit looks to take a lot of inspiration from classic noir films and cross-pollinates that with some extremely raunchy comedy. The whole insane thing is directed by Brian Henson (son of the late, legendary Jim Henson) and is penned by Todd Berger (It’s a Disaster).
This is right up the alley of things I’m into, but never would have thought in a million years would be a theatrical release. Can’t wait to see this one when it drops in August.
