As hard as it might be to believe, it’s been nearly two years since NBC made the sad decision to cancel the excellent Hannibal.

While there were initial rumblings that it would continue on someplace else, so far that hasn’t happened, although creator Bryan Fuller continues to occasionally tease that the series will eventually return.

While NBC’s decision was somewhat understandable – Hannibal’s live ratings were objectively terrible, no matter how much we loyal fannibals loved it – that still doesn’t take away the pain of losing one of the greatest horror shows in recent memory.

Much like it’s charismatic lead character, Hannibal was also a show often full of culture and refinement, despite its grisly subject matter.

After all, nothing makes one more likely to end up on Dr. Lecter’s plate than bad manners. Season 3 was particularly spell-binding in that regard, specifically the portions filmed in Europe.

That said, while we continue to grieve Hannibal’s loss, that doesn’t mean we can’t still have some fun with our favorite cannibal.

Youtube user The HollyHobs recently created and posted a splendid mash-up of Hannibal and Beauty and the Beast, in the form of a delicious parody of the classic song “Be Our Guest.” Check it out below.

I don’t know about you, but I found that quite amusing, and now have parts of it stuck in my head. Join me in appreciating it, won’t you? To not do so would be rude, and we all know what Hannibal thinks of the rude.

Once you’re done watching the above video, meet me back on the Hannibal bandwagon, hoping for Fuller’s proposed Silence of the Lambs-inspired season 4.
