Anytime some news involving a new Guillermo del Toro project is revealed, you know it’s going to be good. And this news is very good. The director will be releasing a horror anthology series described as being a mix of Black Mirror and the work of Alfred Hitchcock titled Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 Past Midnight.

I told you this was going to be some good news!

The horror master has already teamed with Netflix for his animated show Trollhunters, with its third season set for release on May 25th. 10 Past Mightnight will be Guillermo del Toro’s first new project since The Shape of Water, which swept the awards at the Oscar as well as winning numerous other accolades, including the Golden Globes and BAFTA. It’s safe to say that del Toro is riding on a high right now in his career.

The show with feature a new tale each episode. Some will be directed by the man himself, and others will be directed by only those who have been handpicked by del Toro. J. Miles Dale and Gary Ungar of Exile Entertainment will serve as executive producers. Dale also had a hand in The Shape of Water.

Del Toro’s career has been nothing short of a powerhouse since the very beginning; Cronos, The Devil’s Backbone, and Pan’s Labyrinth are some of the best fantasy horror films ever created.

We will keep you updated with everything 10 Past Midnight as we learn more. In the meantime, now is as good a time as ever to go back and revisit the aforementioned films or see them for the first time if you’ve been living under a rock.

If 10 Past Midnight becomes another hit for the director, who is to say we won’t finally get to see his vision of At the Mountains of Madness one day in the future?
