We’re just over a month away from the release of the long-awaited Goosebumps feature film, unleashing all of R.L. Stine’s beloved monsters onto the big screen on October 16th. We simply cannot wait for the books to come to life, and given their enduring popularity, the film is almost a guaranteed box office success.
As reported by The Tracking Board, Sony is so confident Goosebumps will rake in big money on its opening weekend that they’ve already begun developing a sequel. According to the site, the studio is actively seeking a writer to pen the screenplay, and they’re hopeful that an entire film franchise is in the future.
Of course, whether or not more Goosebumps movies get made is entirely dependent on how well the first movie performs at the box office, and there’s no way to be 100% certain that audiences will rush to theaters as they’re expected to. But with positive buzz building, it’s pretty much a sure thing that a sequel will follow.
So if you’re a fan of the property, be sure to head out to your local theater on October 16th and support Goosebumps. Vote with your money, and let Sony know that you want more!
